For more than 40 years, I have been painting… in my head, not with my hands. I thought I was an artist until one day I got dirty with my first oil painting. I knew then, being a self-taught artist is so much harder than painting… in my head.

I was born and raised in a poor remote part of a third-world country, Vietnam.  Not to mention that I was a poorest boy among my friends, too.  But I have never regretted my childhood years, in fact, it was greatest period of my life so far.

I fled the country in 1975 with no relatives. Texas has become my home state and America is my beloved country.

To appreciate the good life God has given to me, I paint things with colors as I see my life, objects and sceneries around are filled with beautiful colors. Without any kind of art training, I has no influences to any type of art at all. It comes straight from my heart.

Kathleen and I have two children, Rebecca and Andrew.  We all joined the local church to serve the Lord.
